“Do you think we will win?”

I received that text a few hours ago.

I’m used to working with victims and victim families. You see and talk to them before and after court.

I had a murder victim’s family come in a few months ago. It was like a funeral entered my office - their faces sunken, energy and love gone. The conversations were tough.

“Do you think he is the guy?”

“Will you get a conviction?”

“Why did he do this?”

Tough, TOUGH questions to answer. You do your best, they thank you, then walk on to the tough road ahead without a loved one.

It sucks. But, they leave. You work up other cases. Life moves on for the non-affected.

Clients?

Not so much.
