“I feel like my lawyer didn’t do HALF of what you are doing!”
I’m fortunate to hear this from clients. I ask them why. Those responses led me to believe some of my colleagues are taking in money and basically doing nothing.
To the public, the “deal” the lawyer negotiated SOUNDS good…but was it?
Criminal cases are usually private affairs. People don’t like BRAGGING about THE DEAL they received on their DUI. Criminals compare notes from jail, I’m not talking about them.
Civil cases, like divorce, are different, especially with how common divorce now is. People do tend to talk about their case, but unless they are lawyers, they don’t KNOW if their deal or settlement was good*
*if you get 90% of the assets plus financial support, you know you crushed it.
