The art of iteration
Many people, LIKE MYSELF, get stuck and spend too much time trying to get somewhere they should not go.
Case in point:
She probably took a wrong turn and went from WhiteBat “do you?” Material to bad Rachel Dolezal impression. Maybe onlyfans is still an option.
All women and directions jokes aside, I have worked hard to learn to iterate quickly and move past sunk costs. My twitter account and substack is a case study in good and bad.
I started by focusing on public speaking.
I’ve spoken or hosted almost any event you can think of; I’ve won awards, contests, had sold out crowds crying in laughter.
Only thing I haven’t done is sell out MSG while masturbating.

Valuable information that I use and you should too. Unfortunately, there are only so many tips (what she said)…and it turns out people don’t really care.
That well crafted tweet received one like and one comment (or it sucked).
Here’s a snapshot of my first few Substacks. Notice a trend, outside of me not writing?
No consistent theme.
Every morning I write jokes.
Sometimes about life, sometimes about my job. Eventually I decided to start tweeting them out:
You’ll notice the improved interaction: 34 likes, two retweets. I was not going for that result, but it happened.
I kept with the legal theme.
Improved engagement on an average tweet. On top of that, I liked having an outlet to talk about my job. I went with my energy. Can’t be this guy:
The Substack, once I started focusing on legal? (Yes I understand the irony of this post but go with it):

Substack prior to a consistent theme?
Many of you may be stuck at something, whether a creative direction for your account or a life decision. Iterate quickly. Take calculated chances. Go with your energy.
My mistake? No plan, took too long to try something out.
Many BowTied accounts have started and added thousands of followers, subscribers, and purchasers of their goods in the time it took me to find my way.
My current trajectory for engagement as well as me having fun is on its way…even if it took a while.
