Twenty-five years ago, I went with my parents and their realtor when looking for my mom’s dream home 25 years ago. We would go to various neighborhoods, and I knew people in ALL of them. “Hey Joe lives here, we can ask them if they like our future neighbors,” “This place has this family, they are weird”

Eventually we settled on a house I RECOMMENDED. I told my parents I rode my bicycle past it one day, but really I snuck over, was partying, and someone said the house was for sale.

One day, the realtor, a large, Italian man named Tony. looks at me and says, “Kong, I know many people in this town, but you, youzzz, youzzzz the Mayor!”

That skill has only grown with age. A great example is the BowTied jungle. I went from occasionally posting about public speaking and a few likes here and there to almost 5,000 followers, and DMs and group chats with not only BowTieds, but a few heavy hitters I would have never thought in a million years I’d have access to, let alone occasionally text funny memes to and from. Said heavy hitters and I occasionally exchange tips and other pieces of information that both parties have turned into $$.
