I WAS ANNOYED NO ONE SHOWED UP TO MY TOASTMASTERS MEETING TODAY AND NOW YOU ARE GOING TO HEAR ABOUT IT
It BOGGLES MY MIND that people need help with public speaking and do not join a practically free opportunity for UNLIMITED practice.
Unlimited
That’s right - you join a Toastmasters club, you can visit ANY CLUB in the WORLD.
Many clubs went to zoom meetings, so you can now literally visit meetings on every continent
I went to a couple different states and had a blast. This is an EASY route for someone who wants podcast guests.
FREE PODCAST IDEA
Visit random clubs around the world and have your intro to your speech mention you have a podcast and are looking for guests. I’D BET SOMEONE THERE WHO SPEAKS ALL THE TIME WOULD BE A GREAT GUEST.
What will you talk about? I don’t know or give a fuck, that’s on you.
Toastmasters usually meets once every two weeks for an hour.
That’s your time commitment. I get busy and will attend once a month. That’s right, ONE HOUR a month plus some speech practice.
Quick Q and A:
Q: How does Toastmasters work?
A: There are defined pathways that walk you through projects, most of which are 5-7 minute speeches. You can talk about anything.
Q: I am nervous to speak in public.
A: That’s why you should go. Most meetings are zoom anyways, so you can ease into the awkwardness of speaking.
Q: I am literally a turbo autist who sits behind my computer all day creating memes, trading dog coinz and making WiFi money. Why do I need to be good at public speaking?
A: This guy used to be a turbo who only coded behind a computer:
Even if you never become Elon, you still:
See family and friends
buy groceries
talk to people and occasionally hit on people of the other sex
sell people on your ideas, like not getting a masturbating in public ticket because c’mon man it was a nice day…
You get the picture, probably a vivid one.
You have to public speak to excel in the world. Not everything is behind a keyboard.
Want to be a Chad? Learn to speak well in public
It is that simple. Want people to take notice of you? Care about your ideas? Speak well. Imagine:
-you are jacked
-have WIFI money
-Can walk into ANY room and feel confident people will care about your words
That’s power.
Go be fucking awesome and learn to speak in public.
NAMASTE,
KONG
Toastmasters is terrific. Helped me a lot in my career as a doctor. Being able to speak capably in public puts you in the top 10% of people out there. Superpower.
I don't think I've ever heard of Toastmasters before. Looks like a lot of others haven't either! Interesting idea.
